Calaceite stands atop a hill at an altitude of 511 m. It lies within the Matarranya area in the province of Teruel.

The plateau on which it lies is just a few kilometres from the border with Catalonia, between the Matarranya and Algás rivers.


The town is on the N-420 road between Gandesa (26 km) and Alcañiz (35 km) and:

When you reach Calaceite, make your way to the Plaza Nueva or the Juan Cabré Museum. Casa de l’Almudí and the Patio de la Torreta are on a steep street opposite the museum, popularly known as La Torreta.
